Bayan Khatib,
the eldest of six children, was born in Syria, but moved to The United
States and then Canada at the age of seven. Today, she lives in Toronto
with her husband and three children. She studied English Literature and
Professional Writing and Communication at the University of Toronto.
Bayan loves to read, write, paint and teach.
Just Five Minutes: Nine
Years in the Prisons of Syria, her first book, a translation from
Arabic, is a memoir of political prisoner. Her second book,
Iraq: the
Untold Tales is a collection of stories and poems that tell the stories
of Iraqis living in war.
